Secret Relationships
"Secret Relationships" is an ongoing South Korean BL (Boys' Love) drama that premiered on February 27. Currently, three episodes have been released. The series, based on the Kakao webtoon of the same name by McQueen Studio, is directed by Yang Kyung-hee and explores workplace romance through the intertwined lives of four main characters.
The story follows Jung Da-on (played by Kim Jun-seo), a hardworking young man who has fought to overcome financial hardships. Despite his resilience and determination, his past struggles sometimes lead to misunderstandings. As he navigates his emotions, Da-on becomes entangled with three men:
Shin Jae-min (Kim Ho-young) – Da-on’s former high school tutor who once provided him with support and guidance. Da-on still harbors strong feelings for him, and throughout the first three episodes, these unresolved emotions create internal conflicts, clouding his ability to process his true feelings and how they affect those around him.
Joo Sung-hyun (Cha Sun-hyung) – Da-on’s colleague, with whom he initially has a tense relationship. However, over time, Sung-hyun develops genuine feelings for Da-on and is open about his affections. This raises a pivotal question: Can Da-on fairly respond to Sung-hyun’s feelings, or is he still emotionally tied to his past with Jae-min?
Kim Soo-hyun (Cha Jung-woo) – A man who undergoes personal growth as he confronts his wounds and past pain.
As Da-on struggles to make sense of his emotions—balancing gratitude, lingering affection, and newfound attractions—he also strives to build a brighter future for himself.
"Secret Relationships" has gained attention from BL enthusiasts both in South Korea and internationally for its intricate portrayal of complex emotions, lingering pasts, and the internal struggles faced by its main characters.
